About the Author
Ronald ( or Ronnie) Owens married to Larita Grant Owens, I have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. I am the son of Helen Jenkins and the grandson of John Jenkins. Raymond Frazier and I were raised by Sam Jenkins, my granduncle, who was one of the twelve children of Edmon Jenkins and Della Baker. I did not realize when I was growing up how blessed I was to have such a great family, whose moral values and work ethics would influence me for the rest of my life. I am the oldest of all my siblings. I hope I can carry on the legacy of my elders who have had such a great impact on all our family members. I am a member of the Islamic Center of Topeka. My wife and I volunteered at Topeka Correctional Facility for 24 years conducting their Islamic religious services. I have been retired for several years now and I enjoy playing music, researching my family history and spending time with my family and friends.
